german measles were as feared as polio. young girls would get themselves exposed just to make sure they would not get them when they got pregnant. they would go into hiding if they got the german measles and did not expose pregnant women. pregnant women were terrified of getting the german measles. the vaccine provided a lot of relief. I am pretty sure mine was after 1968 as has been recommended to check with a doctor if the immunity is sufficient.
